Your Moment of ‘Zoo… This year’s event was held at the Arcadia Creek Festival Park and a little rain didn’t stop anyone having a good time. Thank you Michael Johnston and your Audiotree team for bringing such great talent to Kalamazoo! Here are some more images on Flickr!

Your Moment of ‘Zoo… by Kirk Newman!
“When justice and mercy prevail, children may safely play” is a biblical verse that Kirk used as his inspiration for the sculptures.
Your Moment of ‘Zoo… this is an installation created by two local glass artists, Michael Fortin and Judith Konesni from Avolio GlassWerks. The display is located at Western’s Sangren Hall, right when you walk in the North entrance. The picture doesn’t do justice to the real thing. You should go there and check it out!
Your Moment of ‘Zoo… For years I’ve been thinking about taking this picture, but as long the sign was turning, there was just no way going to do a long exposure 🙂 Recently the motor stopped and finally, I was able to seize the opportunity!
Your Moment of ‘Zoo… Looks like the last physical evidence of the M.D. Ellis Jewelry store in Kalamazoo. I was searching for more history on the store, but all I could find was that it was founded in 1958 by Raymond Mackie. If you have some info on the history please reply to this blog!
Your Moment of ‘Zoo… I’m backfilling some of the August posts to catch up. This picture was taken during the USTA tennis tournament at Kalamazoo College. I ran across this piece of art and it made quite the impression on me as I have always been interested in modern art sculptures. Come to find out it is a Chicago artist by the name of Richard Hunt!
